5 steps to becoming a better YOU in 5 days!

What makes you want to be a better person? What do you feel you’re not doing enough of, or doing too much of? I hope this post inspires you a little more everyday to not only be a better person, but to be a better YOU too!

1.Write down your goals each week


Being able to know what needs to be done ahead of time will give you a feeling of being proactive. I live by this rule, in fact I do it daily! Knowing what needs to be achieved by a certain time makes me feel organized, and more self confident. You have to stop procrastinating and realize that only you can get your own work done!


2. Compliment and appreciate others more

You’d be surprised at the reactions you get when you randomly thank one of your teachers, your peers, or even your parents! Thank someone for holding the door for you with a smile if you usually don’t, or compliment a stranger. The feeling of making others happy – even if you don’t know them should make an impact on you. No matter how small, or big the act is – in order to become a better you, you have to better others as well!

3. Volunteer


Too often we forget how thankful, and blessed we all are. The fact that you’re reading this article all on it’s own speaks for itself: you’re using technology! That’s something not everyone has. Spend at least an hour of your time to serve someone else. Volunteer at your local elementary school, a hospital, a shelter, a local little league sports team or even donate! Volunteering is one of the most exciting, and most rewarding events I’ve ever experienced. Imagine if it was you or a loved one who needed the help. It would mean the world wouldn’t it?

4. Be active!


You don’t have to be a fitness freak, or even someone else’s personal trainer. Going outside or going to the gym and doing at least something is better than the next person who lounges on the couch all day! Clear your mind and do something that, I promise, will make you feel amazing for getting some fresh air!

5. Be positive and uplifting

To not only others, but yourself as well. Try telling yourself something positive daily. There’s never an excuse for a negative attitude! Be a genuine person, and be the light that other people look to. If you want to be a better person, you’ll work towards it! Even if you have a bad day, realize that there is SOMETHING good in every day.

I hope you were able to take at least one of the five tips with you. You’d be amazed at your outlook on life when you begin to better yourself. However, reading this post doesn’t mean you’ve changed. You have to get out there and be the change!
