The ultimate guide to being more confident

Hey you! I’m glad you opened this. Confidence is something that comes from within. Big, small, long or short we all have something to bring to the table. I’m not going to lie, I can get into slumps where I’m just like…”I don’t like this about myself. I wish I looked like this, she’s so lucky, I wonder what it’s like…” and other days its “WOW. Oh yes, work it! Let’s document this memorable day.” Do you know what I mean?

Writing this made me realize a lot, so I hope this is all a helpful reminder to you.

Go out there and do your thing, girl (or boy.) By the way, you look good today!

1. STOP Comparing

We all do this. At school, at work, or even with people we don’t even know! “I wish I was her, she’s so lucky she looks like that. Why don’t I?” Well… because you look like you, and there’s nothing wrong with that. One thing you should never do is question your beauty.  Nobody is you, so use that to your advantage and stop comparing yourself to others. Try writing down a list of things you love about yourself on a post it note and put in on a wall in your room, or your bathroom!

Know who you are. Know what you want. Know what you deserve. And don’t settle for less. – Tony Gaskins FacebookTwitterPinterestMore:

2. Know your worth

Listen, nobody knows you better than you do! If you don’t respect yourself and carry yourself to a standard, nobody will do it for you. You should never be settling, or saying “that will do, I guess that’s fine.” You should never have to fight for anyone’s attention, or acceptance. Again, Do.Not.Settle. I’m telling you!

I have opened a door for you that no one can close. The devil is trying to keep you from entering into that rest. he knows that when you are at rest in Me you are no longer afraid. Remember Paul said to die daily to the flesh so that My Spirit can renew you. There is nothing at all to fear My child. Live today. Watch Me open the way for you.:

3. Try new things

Get out there and join that club at your school, get a different job, or heck – look at me! Do something you are so afraid of, but so curious to know about.  Start a blog, a YouTube channel, or learn how to cook. (Sadly, I need to learn how to cook since I’m going off to college. I can’t live off of Ramen all week now can I!?) Imagine how boring life would be if we never had the courage our curiosity to do new and different things. Try new things so often, that it becomes a habit. You’d be amazed at what you’d find out about yourself!

4. Compliment others

This is honestly probably my favorite thing to do. You never know someone elses day is going, so why not ? What you say might cling to them for the rest of that day, or even that week. Seeing someone’s reaction after I compliment their hair, or their makeup makes me feel great knowing that what I said put a smile on their face! Especially when it’s someone I don’t know out in public.. There’s nothing wrong with supporting and uplifting one another!

5. Get Active

You don’t have to start training for the Olympics, but going on a walk, going to the gym, or even yoga in your room for 5-30 minutes would change your day I promise! Watching makeup gurus on YouTube while on the elliptical is one of my favorite things to do because it takes my mind off of everything! Getting outside and getting fresh air and getting active is a perfect way to feel refreshed and confident. Even when you get lazy, try doing something energizing while you watch a tv episode, or a series on Netflix! (It’s possible to watch Stranger Things, Gossip Girl, and Criminal Minds while working out. Trust me on this one.)

6. Value your opinion over anybody else’s

Of course it’s great to ask other people for advice, and their opinion. However, you’ve got to live your life the way you want it to be. This is your story, and nobody elses.Who cares what they think! Wear the outfit, put all the makeup on your face that your heart desires. At the end of the day, you know what’s best for you and you have to take control of your life.

Do what makes you happy so true !!! This is your life no one else's:

7. Do what makes you happy

If it makes you smile, keep doing it. Follow your dreams and don’t look back.

Not everything will go as you expect in your life. This is why you need to drop expectations and go with the flow of life.:

8. Go with the flow

Relax. You’re not going to get everything you want in life at this exact time and that’s okay. It’s okay to have bad days, we all do! But, you can’t dwell on it and pity yourself. Our days are numbered here and you’ve got to see the positive out of all the negatives! I started being more optimistic and I can’t tell you how much more I’ve gotten done. Sometimes things don’t go the way you want, but you have to adapt and adjust.

SO important! Everyone changes with the years. And people should embrace change, love others for their changes. Growth is essential.:

9. Become the ideal person you would like to hang around

Think about your attitude, the way you talk to others, and the way you carry yourself. Really think about it! If you had to duplicate yourself and hang around with that clone, would you be bothered?  Be a genuine person! You don’t have to like everyone, and not everyone has to like you. But at the end of the day everyone wants respect.

Eat like no one’s watching… or dance.. whatever.

Regardless of which motto you choose, live life to the fullest and never look back. Who cares what they say, and who cares what they think as long as you know you love everything you’re becoming. Change for the best, don’t be afraid of it. Most of all, love yourself. Be your biggest supporter!

Now, put the phone, tablet, or computer down and go have some “you” time. I’m sure we both know it’s well deserved.
